The Family

Whalton Manor is home to Timmy and Penny Norton and their two sons, who are not only custodians of the house and garden, but also of the recent history of the place. Timmy's maternal grandfather, Harry Stephens, bought the house in 1923 and the family have lived there ever since.

It is Timmy's wife Penny who continues to nurture this magnificent and historical garden today. Penny says:

"We are very aware of the responsibility we have for the heritage of the house and garden, which is why we have chosen to open the garden to groups of visitors. We hope you enjoy seeing our garden and learning a little more about the history of the site"
